Big Y Foods, Inc. is an American, family-claimed grocery store chain situated in Massachusetts and Connecticut. It works under the business trademarks “Large Y World Class Market” or Big Y Supermarket.
In 1936, a youthful business person, Paul D’Amour, supported by his sibling, Gerald, and sisters, Ann Marie, Yvette, and Gertrude, bought the Y Cash Market in the Willimansett part of Chicopee, Massachusetts, at a Y-convergence. On December 12, 1936, the siblings started Y Cash Market, the herald of them.
The organization is settled in Springfield, Massachusetts. Big Y presently is controlled by cousins Charles and Michael D’Amour.
