North of 100 quite a while back, Mr. Arthur A. Argo, Sr. had a dream to start a local area bank in Trezevant, Tennessee. Brought up in a little local area with family esteems, Mr. Argo, Sr. maintained that his business and local area should endeavor together to make a straightforward, genuine practice which actually remains today.
On January 21, 1916, Farmers and Merchants Bank opened its entryways with Mr. Argo, Sr. filling in as the Bank’s most memorable President.
Mr. George L. Atwood (child in law of Mr. Argo, Jr.) accepted the job of Bank President and CEO in 1981. Mr. Atwood opened the Bank’s most memorable branch in 1995 situated in Bolivar.
Throughout the following 24 years, the Bank ventured into Rutherford, Three Way, McKenzie, Trenton, Medina, Middleton, Toone, Henderson, and Adamsville.
